This panorama of a North Dakota State University football game at the Fargodome was photographed by Christopher Gjevre. The Bison football team has played on the artificial turf of the Fargodome since 1993. Built at an original cost of $48 million, the facility has seating for 18,700 fans. Originally founded in 1890 as the North Dakota Agricultural College, North Dakota State University athletics have progressed from the "Farmers" in the 1890's, to the "Aggies" in the early 1900's, to the "Bison" in 1919. The Bison football team, now part of the Missouri Valley Football Conference, was a major force in NCAA Division II, winning 8 national titles and 26 conference titles before moving to Division I (FCS) in 2004.
